When Logic Meets Bliss
For Dewi Kruijk, ornamental objects are more than just décor. They have an important function, enabling us to express our personality. In that sense, they can also be seen as a form of personal, non-verbal communication. ‘When Logic Meets Bliss’ embodies this idea. These four light objects are made from a single LED tube light and different flat paper shades that slide on easily. The construction is simple, keeping the focus on the paper as an expressive medium. Kruijk uses ambiguous, abstract forms to transcend our rational side with a subjective appeal. Each lamp is different, just as we too are individuals.
