Ignorance is Bliss
The ‘Ignorance is Bliss’ series, consisting of a set of ceramic tableware, glass plates and a table runner, was created using industrial waste. Over time, heavy metals have become spread across huge areas due to a lack of knowledge. Agne Kucerenkaite collected six different samples of polluted soil from environments such as a zinc factory, soil remediation and water companies. Experimenting with different techniques, she mixed the soil with porcelain clay, glaze, glass and textiles. She hopes her pieces will connect past abuse with current reuse, and create awareness to safeguard a blissful, cleaner future.
