With social media sites such as Facebook Twitter and Instagram, we are inundated with updates every minute of every day. We choose who we want to follow and filter out what we don’t want to know. We are more aware of every trivial personal event in our network than we do about far-reaching global events. Anyone with enough followers becomes newsworthy, no matter what they do. In this project, Olivier van Gaalen uses a traditional news format to highlight the absurdity of the stories we have come to consume. From buying new T-shirts to the state of his dirty dishes, he shows what happens when everyday life makes headlines.
