How strong is your desire for order? Do you order your things by colour, or at random; in stacks, or neatly alongside each other; in a heap, or in a strict row? Else Schenkveld is fascinated with the way people sort, arrange, and order collections. For Showall she took inspiration from a tool wall and a traditional display cabinet. Plates, cutlery, glasses, and cups form the ingredients for her three-dimensional patterns on the wall. In this knitted tapestry you can place hooks and holders at any given point, turning the result into a perfect reflection of how well-organised or chaotic the user is. Showall is a demonstration of the beauty in numbers.
