Birds of paradise were the inspiration for the fabric panels of the Pastel Paradise project. Inge de Vor calls her works semi-manufactured products. They offer just a suggestion of how they could be worn. Fuzzy material for stroking, furry applications, tucked silk voile and flapping fringes. Very expressive all in all, just like their namesake Birds of Paradise. De Vor: “These birds are such elegant show-offs. During their mating dance they flaunt their exuberant plumage and move so gracefully.” She has long had a great love of birds and fashion. With these handcrafted graceful materials she has combined her two passions.
