Just Chairs by Michael Kluver

Just Chairs

What is the point of continually reinventing the chair? Just Chairs is Michael Kluver’s response to the continuous stream of new designs launched each year. He points out that, notwithstanding all the restylings that appear, there are, after all, only a finite number of fixed parameters which make a chair a chair. And the ideal seating height, angle of the back and size of the seat have all been known for some time. Michael Kluver unleashed these golden rules on five design classics, which, even in their simplified versions, are still highly recognisable. “Now we can go back to solving the real problems facing the world,” he says. “Ultimately, there are more important things than just chairs!”
